The founding of Britain's first dedicated electric blues club - The Ealing Blues Club on March 17 1962 by Alexis Korner & Cyril Davies was to be the catalyst which sparked the Blues boom of the '60s and subsequently British Rock Music. Mojo Magazine has described Ealing as:'The Cradle of British Rock Music'. The Ealing Blues Festival, which started in 1987 celebrates this heritage and is now London's longest running Blues Festival.
The Ealing Blues Festival is part of The Ealing Summer Festival which also incorporates The Ealing Jazz Festival and The Ealing Comedy Festival. The Ealing Summer Festival is run by The Event Umbrella for The London Borough of Ealing.
The name 'EALING BLUES FESTIVAL' is the intellectual property of THE EALING CLUB COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY and is licensed to The London Borough of Ealing & The Event Umbrella free of charge in support of 'live music' in the Borough.
